For example, the English word Curry, is derived from the Tamil word, Kari. Others include, Maangai has become Mango, Kanji became Conjee, Ingiver (Inchi- ver (root) become Ginger, and milagu thaneer (pepper water) became mulligatawny (a now famous soup).
